LO4 Edited Final product

  Underneath this is the newest version of the music video that we improved upon during post production. After listening to feedback me and the team decided to look back at our work and fix a lot of the issues that occurred within the last draft.  One of which was the green screen and special effects that we used. In this newest version we have altered them slightly so that they better fit the theme of the track, plus they no longer look glitchy and unprofessional. We also added a lot more cuts and shortened some scenes, as we felt that they we way too long and uninteresting. With these patches implemented we believe that our product has now improved tremendously and we feel as if our skills in creating a music video have been increased by a huge amount.

LO4 Feedback report

After obtaining feedback from both the focus group and questionnaire we have determined that as a group the best way to improve our product would be by syncing Ellis with the lyrics from the song more carefully which would allow us to make the cuts more fluid and engaging for the audience, This would improve the songs overall quality for the audience's experience and make our product more likely to be shared over social media. To build on this the way we implemented special effects could have been done better, as our final product only consists of a few green screen shots, some static effects and a warp effect that folded the screen on itself. If we had implemented these special effects better we could have made our product look more professional. However, given that I now know how to use these I am sure that I can now focus on improving my skills as an editor and I could even invest in different special effects that are used buy professionals in high viewed music videos to improve...

LO4 Examples of social media marketing

  This is an example of how I previewed the music video on instagram via my story, which allows anyone to see it once they have followed me or viewed my account. By using this below the line marketing method I advertise the product directly to fans of Ellis's music and people who follow my music account. An recent example of a popular social media page doing this would be Lyrical lemonades advertisement for Post Malones newest song Motley Crew After previewing the music video on my instagram I then began to receive comments from people replying to my story with love and also feedback that I could use in the future to create a better product. I was also messaged by a fairly big producer that has ten thousand followers on instagram living in Los Angeles. The producer (Brett Holey) has worked with internet stars and rappers like Woahvicky and Shy Gawdly, showing that by using instagram and promoting my stuff has allowed me to make bigger connections with people that can help me grow a...

I believe that after adding SFX into my music video, it looks more like a music video for a rap song. This is because green screen effects and glitch effects are used frequently in rap videos, so by using this we built on the Repetition and difference theory by Steve Neale and used the stereotypical editing techniques to make our product enjoyable and familiar for the viewer. The glitch and inverted effects were used to transition from one scene to the next seamlessly and because they fit the aesthetic of the song.
