LO4 Feedback report

After obtaining feedback from both the focus group and questionnaire we have determined that as a group the best way to improve our product would be by syncing Ellis with the lyrics from the song more carefully which would allow us to make the cuts more fluid and engaging for the audience, This would improve the songs overall quality for the audience's experience and make our product more likely to be shared over social media. To build on this the way we implemented special effects could have been done better, as our final product only consists of a few green screen shots, some static effects and a warp effect that folded the screen on itself. If we had implemented these special effects better we could have made our product look more professional. However, given that I now know how to use these I am sure that I can now focus on improving my skills as an editor and I could even invest in different special effects that are used buy professionals in high viewed music videos to improve the quality of my other projects. Furthermore we realised from feedback that by filming more shots and different takes we could have made our product look more finished as after rewatching with this in mind, we noticed many things that could have been fixed or improved upon during filming or editing. So to fix this in the future we can make sure to take our time and constantly add to our product until we are happy with the final version. Through finishing this product we also gave ourself some feedback and evaluated our predicted through these eyes of our target audience. this helped us gain a better understanding of our product and how we could improve upon it. For example, the cinematography felt very generic and boring, which while it was what we were going for, it felt like it could have been improved with some interesting shots that could have been gotten via a drone or a more experienced camera person. By doing this our product would have been up to professional standards making it more likeable and enjoyable for our target audience. Also, we noticed a glitch during one of the shots that used the green screen which has the ability to annoy the audience and take away their overall enjoyment of the music video. However this is not that hard to fix and can simply be sorted by accessing the premiere file and editing out the glitch from the product. However, this showed us that simple things like this can go unnoticed while editing or exporting the project. So, during the making of our future products we will make sure to go over it multiple times and check for certain things that can ruin the enjoyment for certain people. Overall, the feedback that we had gained showed us how our product could be improved in many different ways, but even so, we believe that our first real attempt at creating a music video was successful and looked great.
