unit 15 audio visual promos LO1 report

 Lo1: Understand the purpose, approaches and contrasts between different audio-visual promos.  Mortal Kombat 11 Trailer The state purpose of this promo is to sell the game to its audience and In this trailer the background music is the song Immortal by 21 Savage which was released shortly before the reveal of the game and was made specifically for promotion of the game. They chose 21 savage as normally his lyrics are gruesome and violent which correlate with the grittiness of the Mortal Kombat games. Plus the age demographic for both the game and 21s audience is near the same 18-25. In the Promo it showed a cinematic of how the game would play with the hard song in the background this was used to build hype for the game and maybe bring some new people into the game as they would hear the song and be interested in the game. The trailers setting is very dark with crumbled up buildings and a lot of Korean visuals. That link to how martial arts is mainly Asian and originated there...

1.A relationship between the video and lyrics. In the first picture the lyrics consist of "we back to back in the phantom" while it cuts to a car which is referred ton as a phantom in hip-hop. through the second video the lyrics are saying "i don't want no foreign cars" as it cuts to other sets of cars even toy cars. 2.editing and the relationship between the music and the visual. the first ss is from Wyclef Jean which is a party type song. it as a lot of funny, outrageous lyrics that relate to money, women and luxury and so the setting would be very luxurious, with a lot of models and women. However the second clip is from Octane sex by Gnar which is more dark in tone and atmosphere. relating more to drugs weapons and less about women.
